Salas appointed Pangasinan’s new Comelec supervisor
THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has named Atty. Marino Salas as the new provincial election supervisor for Pangasinan, which has one of the biggest voting populations in the country at more than 1.5 million as of August 22.
“Malaki ang Pangasinan but with my experience, kaya ko naman gampanan ang nakaatang sa balikat natin,” said Salas who assumed office on September 24, a week before the October 1 start of filing of candidacies for the May 2014 midterm election.
Salas said he is thankful to former Officer-in-Charge Atty. Jenifer Balarbar who kept the Comelec Pangasinan office organized and accomplished its requirements.
Salas previously served as the PES of the provinces of Ilocos Sur and La Union. He was also posted at the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao during the national registration. (PIA-Pangasinan/VHS)
