Radio announcer stabbed dead
TAYUG–An announcer of the government station Radyo ng Bayan based in this town was brutally killed Wednesday night in Barangay Trenchera here.
The body of Rizalino Salinas, 46, was found Thursday morning in a rice field at the back of the Trenchera Elementary School.
Before noon of Thursday, the police picked up two suspects who were identified by witnesses as having been with Salinas in a drinking spree the previous night.
The suspects have been identified as Isagani Alina, 18, and John Mark Callejo, 14, reportedly a text mate of the victim.
A witness told the police that the two stabbed and hacked Salinas after he fell asleep, drunk.
Afterwards, they carried and dumped the body of the victim in the rice field where it was found.
Bernie Errasquin, president of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters sa Pilipinas chapter, manager of Radyo ng Bayan Dagupan, condemned the brutal murder and sought quick justice.
Errasquin, however, said he believes the slaying of Salinas was not work-related.
