Kidnapped student recovered in Pangasinan
BINALONAN–A 21-year old student from St. Louis College in San Fernando City, who was kidnapped by unidentified persons on board a black van in San Fernando Thursday afternoon, escaped from his abductors and was rescued by the police here at 12:30 a.m. on September 28.
Police identified the victim as Windzor Balangue, 21, a resident of Poblacion in Aringay, La Union who said he was abducted at the Public Plaza of San Fernando City.
Balangue said he was standing at the plaza and waiting for a ride to his school when two men approached and talked to him. Then one poked a knife to his side and forced him to board a van that sped towards the south.
With him in the moving van were two men, one woman whom he described as from 55 to 60 years old, and a minor, whom Balangue presumed was also a kidnap victim.
When the van stopped somewhere in Urdaneta City, the other victim managed to run away from his captors prompting a chase, which Balangue took as an opportunity to escape himself.
Balangue hid and after he was certain his abductors have left, he started to walk in the direction of Binalonan from Urdaneta City.
With the help of tricycle drivers, he reached the Binalonan police station, where his parents later came to fetch him.
The case is under further investigation by the police in Pangasinan and La Union.
