“OPERATION: Iwas Dengue” is currently being conducted by the office of Rep. Gina de Venecia to prevent the possibility of a dengue outbreak in Pangasinan’s 4th District.

The misting operation against the killer mosquitoes started last September 19 in Dagupan City and Mangaldan. It will continue in San Fabian, San Jacinto and Manaoag town.

De Venecia said that the misting operations will continue until all the 140 barangays in the fourth district of Pangasinan shall have been covered.

Thus far, the operation has covered barangays Bacayao Sur, Bacayao Norte, Bonuan Boquig, Herrero-Perez, Mayombo, Caranglaan, and Tebeng, all in Dagupan City, and Barangays Maasin and Amansabina in Mangaldan.

De Venecia said the preventive action is still the best way to combat killer diseases like dengue. That is why even before the spate of the killer mosquitoes, she already launched the anti-dengue drive.

The same strategy was employed by De Venecia when she distributed anti-leptospirosis capsules to offset the prevalence of leptospirosis in the flooded barangays in Dagupan City.

Over-all health care is one of the four pillars of De Venecia’s governance. The other three are: Livelihood, Values Formation, and Education & Environment, all under the acronym LOVE.
