ALCALA—This town celebrated its 137^th founding anniversary on Thursday with the theme “Community Involvement and Dynamic Leadership for a More Progressive Alcala” led by Mayor Manuel Collado.

The highlight of the Alcala Day celebration was a parade participated in by members of the Senior Citizens Association from different barangays, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, tricycle operators and drivers association, officials from different barangays, non-government organizations, and teachers and principals.

After the parade, a Drum and Lyre exhibition from the different elementary and secondary schools in Alcala was held at the town auditorium.

Awards were also given to the Most Outstanding Alcalaneans. A concert free to the public featured stand-up comedians and music bands.-Mhel Bongarsa, UPang
