78-year old man arrested for gun possession

ALCALA—A 78-year old retiree was arrested shortly after a search inside his house yielded two revolvers.

Joaquin Calaus, a resident of Barangay Canarvacanan here, was caught with one  Cal. 45, revolver with markings “US ARMY” model 1917, 18 live ammunition for Cal 45, one Cal .22 revolver without a serial number and marked  “SUPER COLT MAGNUM 22”, and six live ammunition for cal .22.

The search, based on a warrant issued by Judge Ulysses R. Butuyan of Regional Trial Court Branch 51 in Tayug, was carried out Thursday by joint elements of the 3rd Company lst Regional Public Safety Battalion, Provincial Police Public Safety Company and the Alcala police.

A case for illegal possession of firearm and ammunitions is now being prepared against Calaus.
