P’sinan Prov’l Chorale, finalist in gov’t competition

THE Pangasinan Provincial Chorale (PPC) has been chosen as one of the eight finalists in the countrywide Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) Government Chorale Competition to be held on September 17 at the University of the Philippines Theatre in Quezon City.

The group sent its audition piece to the PCSA competition committee after securing an endorsement from Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr.

The PPC is composed of 23 provincial capitol employees, namely” Leo Jun Jugo, the choirmaster, Cynthia Vila, Wilma Patinga, Marissa Espiritu, Fe Baluyot, Ferlynor Aranda, Noli Salo, Aizza Marie Daroy, Eugenio Paragas, Jose Santos Jr., Ricardo Fercol Jr., Ma. Joy Mapula, Vincent Ramos, Roldan Palinar, Nathaniel Joel Daroy, Maria Ella Broqueza, Josue Vidal Jr., Dominador Cara Jr., Elton Viray, Anavi Viray, Gilbert Vila, Arminda de Quintos, and Roman Vila Jr.

The group is now practicing three Filipino songs that include Noel Cabangon’s Ikaw ay Bayani, and undertaking other preparations for the competition.

The provincial government is extending full support to the group.

The chorale competition is one of the events lined-up for the celebration of the 112th PCSA with the theme “Kawani, Ikaw ay Isang Lingkod Bayani”.–Johanne Margarette R. Macob
