MANGALDAN –Pangasinan’s well-known cycling group “Pitaki Boyz” is enplaning to Cebu City on August 6 to participate in the 2012 Tour of Cebu slated on August 8-12.

The five-man Mangaldan-based professional cyclists of Jazy F. Garcia will have its principal sponsor, town Mayor Herminio A. Romero. It will be skippered by 2003 Tour Pilipinas king Arnel Quirimit and co-skippered by this year’s Le Tour de Filipinas winner Baler Ravina.

Former national team members Ericson Obosa and Renato Sembrano and Tour veteran Ferdinand Pablo will complete the squad, which will be mentored by three-time Tour champion Jesus Garcia, Jr. and Jazy himself.

Sinulog Festival chairman David Odilao Jr., the chief organizer of the bikefest, said the multi-stage bikathon will run in five stages with a total distance of 440 kilometers.

A total of P450,000 in cash prizes are at stake.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will officially open the event, which will start with a 4.2 kilometer prologue stage that will run within the heart of Cebu City before traversing all the key places of the big Visayan province.
