Manhunt on for double homicide suspect
POZORRUBIO—The police here are now on a manhunt for one Den Galero Lucban, alias Dencio, 40 years old, who is a suspect in a frustrated robbery and double homicide case.
Lucban is suspected for the killing of a 76-year old Erlinda Abaoag and her six- year old grandson John Earl Semese, plus the wounding of two others in Legarda Street in Poblacion District II on August 8 at about 3:00 a.m.
Abaoag was reportedly roused from sleep while the suspect was opening the drawers and cabinets in her room apparently looking for valuables.
She shouted for help, and Lucban then stabbed the two victims.
Also wounded were couple Marcelo and Josephine Abaoag who were also attacked by the suspect when they reportedly ran to Abaoag’s house to check on what they sensed to be a disturbance.
They were rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City and one of the surviving victims identified Lucban, their neighbor, as the one who committed the crime.
The victim reported that he was able to fight back and stab the suspect on the left side of his body.
The suspect has been described as heavy built, brown complexion, about 5’4” to 5’6” in height and speaks with a Visayan accent as he is a native of Northern Samar.—with report from Eva Visperas
