Canteen thief caught on CCTV camera
BAYAMBANG–A thief was caught on CCTV camera taking several items from a canteen in Barangay Zone II, Bayambang at 11:00-11:25p.m. of August 8.
The canteen owner, Marita Mangila, 45, reported the incident the following morning to the Bayambang police and presented the CCTV tape from the camera mounted at the back of the canteen.
Follow up operation was immediately conducted against the suspect, identified as Lito Miguel Cayabyab, 34, single, dispatcher and resident of Barangay Zone IV, that resulted in his arrest and the recovery of some of the stolen items.
The items carted away were four cases of empty soft drinks bottle worth more or less P400.00 and one gas stove tank worth about P1,000.00 and one half sack of charcoal worth P75.00.
The gas stove tank was recovered in Barangay Nibaliw Sur, Bautista at the house of Marciano Fernandez to whom the suspect sold the item while the cases of soft drinks bottle were recovered at the De Vera’s Grocery and Store where the suspect also sold it to Mr. Felipe De Vera.
