Agno’s Liga ng mga Barangay head killed
A SPECIAL Investigation Task Group (SITG) codenamed “Sagana” is now conducting an investigation into the gunslaying of Reynaldo E. Sagana, barangay chairman of Boboy in Agno and also the head of the town’s Liga ng mga Barangay.
Sagana, 43, was shot and killed by a still unidentified assailant with a caliber .45 at around 10 p.m. of August 11 at the Hidden Paradise Videoke Bar located at Barangay Amandiego, Alaminos City, which he reportedly owned.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds on his head and chest and was rushed to the Alaminos Doctor’s Hospital in Barangay Bolaney where he was declared dead on arrival.
The police report on the incident said a waitress first accosted the suspect when she saw him entering the resort with a handgun.
The suspect approached Sagana then opened fire.
After the shooting, the gunman immediately covered his face with a handkerchief, exited the premises then rode a waiting unmarked motorcycle driven by an unidentified suspect.
Police Chief Superintendent Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu, Region 1 police director ordered, Senior Superintendent Mariano Luis M. Verzosa Jr., Office-in-Charge of the Pangasinan police, to lead the SITG “Sagana”.
Verzosa said the suspect who was identified based on photo gallery shown to witnesses is believed to be a gun-for-hire.
Motive of the killing is still undetermined.
