MULTI-national firm Procter and Gamble (P&G) Philippines will donate 150 band new XO educational laptop computers to the Lucao Elementary School in Dagupan this year.

Lucao Elementary School was chosen by P&G’s local partner, City Supermarket Inc., (CSI), as the beneficiary.

P&G officials said Lucao Elementary School is only the second public elementary school throughout the country to receive the XO educational laptop computers in October following an earlier donation to the Manuel Quezon Elementary School in Tondo, Manila last year.

These computers are part of the one million that P&G intends to donate to public elementary schools around the Philippines until 2025 when the company reaches its 100th year anniversary.

According to Dr. Marilou Llamas, principal, the Lucao Elementary School is already Wi-Fi enabled being within the range of the facilities of Smart Communications Co.

The project is under the e.Studyante  program of the company.

Jia Salindong, e.Studyante marketing manager, said the e.Studyante aims to provide learning opportunities to  students through internet connectivity and effective learning tools.

Salindong assured that the laptops are child-friendly, handy, and at the same time heavy-duty.

Dagupan Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, whose family owns the CSI Group, thanked  P&G for choosing CSI as its partner in the e.Studyante program and a school in the city as a beneficiary.

City School Superintendent Alma Torio thanked P&G and the vice mayor for helping enhance the education of students at the Lucao Elementary School.
