Metro Dagupan PRISAA Games reels off August 2

THE Metro Dagupan PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) Division Games will formally begin on August 2 at the Peoples’ Astrodome, with some 400 players and athletes from six member-schools participating and competing inĀ 14 individual and team sporting events.

Instead of holding only a basketball tournament this year, the PRISAA leaders decided to hold a bigger and expanded event to allow for more participation among its member-schools.

The Division Games consist of competitions for college students, men and women, in athletics, badminton, boxing, beach volleyball, volleyball, dance sports, chess, lawn tennis, karatedo, swimming, table tennis, and taekwondo while men only in basketball and sepak takraw.

The first place winners in these competitions will represent Metro Dagupan in the 22nd staging of the PRISAA Regional Collegiate Games slated on October 26-28 in Lingayen.

UCAAP

Meanwhile, the opening ceremonies of the UCAAP (Universities and Colleges Athletic Association of Pangasinan) Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship will be held on September 4.

The Champion in this tournament will represent Pangasinan PCCL (Philippine Collegiate Champions League) in the PCCL North Luzon Regional Elimination on November 6 in San Fernando City, La Union. —Philamer C. Celi
