Mangin routs Calmay; Tapuac upsets Bonuan Gueset
INTER-BARANGAY COUNCIL FAMILY TOURNEY
TEAM Barangay Mangin devastated Calmay, 150-75, while Tapuac shocked Bonuan Gueset with an upset win, 61-53, in the ongoing basketball tournament of the First Dagupan City Inter-Barangay Council Family Tournaments held at The Stadia.
Six other teams won their respective games in contrasting fashion last week.
Tambac won by forfeiture over Barangay II, 20-0; Lucao nipped Lomboy, 86-72; Tebeng blasted Herrero-Perez, 83-71; Mamalingling dumped Barangay IV, 90-75; Lasip Chico edged Salapingao, 66-64; and Bolosan upended Caranglaan, 100-90.
In the basketball games scheduled today, starting at 8 a.m., Bonuan Gueset battles Caranglaan; Bolosan faces Carael; Mangin engages Bacayao Norte; Pogo Chico meets Tebeng; Lomboy tackles Salisay; Tapuac fights Salapingao; Tambac encounters Lucao; and Malued duels Pogo Grande.
Meanwhile, the single round robin eliminations in the volleyball tournament ended with the top two teams in each of the four brackets qualifying for the quarterfinal round that started yesterday.
This phase of the tournament will also be played in a single round robin series with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The quarterfinalists are Barangays Carael, Salapingao, Pugaro, Lasip Grande, Malued, Pogo Chico, Pantal and Mayombo.
