It’s Blood Donor’s Month
THE Red Cross-Pangasinan Chapter formally started the observance of the National Blood Donors Month last Saturday with Red Cross National Chairman Richard J. Gordon as guest of honor.
The observance coincided with a ground-breaking ceremony for the Red Cross Pangasinan Chapter Warehouse. The CSI City Mall Atrium later hosted the chapter’s launching of the 2012 Million Volunteer Run, a blood donation awareness campaign and fund raising activity.
An oath-taking ceremony was also held for Red Cross volunteers from Dagupan and the towns of Umingan, Bugallon, Rosales, Bayambang and San Manuel.
The chapter also engaged stakeholders from the academe and the medical profession for the signing of memorandum of agreement for the establishment of Red Cross Youth Council in schools and for the improvement of blood donation services, respectively.
Among the named stakeholders are the University of Luzon, Urdaneta City University, Red Cross Youth-San Carlos City Division, Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Hospital, Nazareth General Hospital, Luzon Medical Center, Specialist Group and Trauma Hospital, the Pangasinan Medical Society and the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital.
