Espino brings hi-tech X-ray to PPH
LINGAYEN–Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. led the unveiling of the newest and advanced Digital X-Ray at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in Bolingit, San Carlos City on July 5.
Chief of Hospital II Dr. Jackson D. Soriano said “the new medical equipment outsourced by the provincial government through public and private sources to provide quality and better services to Pangasinenses is catered in PPH, the first and only province-owned hospital in Region 1 to have this state-of-the-art medical equipment.”
“An advancement in Diagnostic Radiology, this modern healthcare equipment will improve the diagnostic capability of the PPH as the results of this radiology system can be sent to Radiology Centers for interactive discussion thru internet. In addition, this filmless system is cost effective; does not require processor and reagents and has less manpower requirements,” Soriano added.
Edward Tan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DCM Medical Systems in USA and CEO of eFotoXpress Philippines Corporation, expressed thanks to the governor saying “with this state-of-the-art X-ray, people will receive accurate and high level healthcare they truly deserve.”
He further said that “the old and traditional method of medical practice without high technology is a thing in the past. Today, high-tech healthcare system has improved with technologies in state of the art — and this cannot be made possible without your patronage”.
Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. who also attended the unveiling activity, congratulated the governor for another laurel he has brought in the province-owned hospital’s healthcare.
The governor ,who reported that new healthcare equipment were delivered to PPH last month, emphasized that healthcare is among the major thrusts of his administration next to peace and order.
“The poorest Filipino in Pangasinan are thePangasinenses who are sick and who are poor and let us try to help them through bringing them closer to quality healthcare system,” Espino said.
Assistant Chief of the Hospital Dr. Policarpio R. Manuel commended the governor for the good efforts he has done for the PPH.
The blessing and dedication of the newly installed X-Ray equipment at the radiology room was done by Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Romero.
Other prominent features of the new X-ray system include: 16-million pixels which meets different demands; high environment adaptability, low failure rate; virtual grid, a kind of technology by means of eliminating scattering image; virtual grids can be reduced by 1/3 dose; lower radiation dose; two-second preview image access time; PACS/RIS from USA; extremely light weight; sharp digital images; easy to use; long-term investment; no waiting time; and no cassettes.
Other new healthcare equipment catered at the PPH are: ultrasound; 10 units of Cardiac Monitor machines for patients with heart diseases (8 units installed at the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU), 2 units at the Operating Room); 4 units of Ventilator Machines for patients suffering from respiratory failure (3 units installed at the ICCU, 1 unit at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit); 4 Dialysis Machines (installed at the ICCU for patients needing dialysis management).
