Drunk boy drowns in dam
MANGATAREM—A 17-year old boy drowned while swimming with friends in a dam in Barangay Pogon Aniat here at about 2:40 p.m. of July 26.
The fatality was identified as Arvin Petaca, a first year high school student, who was reportedly intoxicated with alcohol when he went into the water.
While swimming, the boys were carried by a strong current due to the rush of water from the mountain caused by heavy rains the day before.
The friends of the victim survived but the supposedly drunk Petaca was unable to fight the current and drowned.
