ANDA–Three fishermen were arrested by the police and members of the Bantay Dagat in the morning of June 26 while fishing illegally in the municipal waters off Barangay Awile here.

The suspects, on board a motorized banca, were identified as Edgar Carbonell, 33, Jimmy Capera, 45, and Fautisno Aduna, 59, all from Barangay Pangapisan, Alaminos City.

The suspects were arrested and charged for violation of Chapter VII, Section 94 of Municipal Ordinance No 1. Series of 2002 for engaging in fishery activity for commercial purposes without any license, lease or permit.

Confiscated from the suspects were a motorized banca colored blue, one diving mask and one fishnet.
