VMUF athletes boost R1 rank in PRISAA

ATHLETES from Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) in San Carlos City bagged three gold medals, four silver and six bronze in the recently-held 2012 PRISAA (Private Schools Athletics Association) National Collegiate Games in Cebu City, which pulled up the Region 1 delegation’s ranking to 5th nationwide.

The three gold and four silver came from VMUF Men’s Athletics team, while the six bronze were brought home by the Women’s Athletics.

Region 1’s Men’s Athletics Team represented by VMUF emerged overall champion.

In the official medal standing, Region 1’s representatives in the Men’s Division accumulated five gold, six silver, and six bronze, while the Women’s Division had one gold and nine bronze.

Overall, Region-I had a total of six gold, six silver, and 15 bronze.

VMUF President Dr. Ma. Lilia P. Juan congratulated VMUF Sports Program Director Marcelino M. Doña and the VMUF delegation for a job well done.

VMUF prides itself in being the only private university in the Philippines with an International Standard Rubberized Track Oval, which was used in the 1995 and 2012 Palarong Pambansa hosted by Pangasinan.
