LGU-Pangasinan conducts bloodletting on June 20
LINGAYEN–The provincial government, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Pangasinan Chapter will conduct a blood- letting activity on June 20 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC) here.
Dr. Anna Ma. Teresa S. De Guzman, PHO Chief, said the activity aims to contribute to the attainment of the national government’s Millennium Development Goal of reducing maternal mortality through timely availability of quality and safe blood supply for pregnant and post-partum mothers as well as for patients affected with dengue.
The PHO chief called on all qualified donors to support the project even as she noted that a series of tests will first be conducted for those who want to donate, including registration wherein donors will be required to indicate their health history, weighing, blood typing and physical examination to ensure that the donor is fit to give blood.
Interested donors can get in touch with the PHO or PRC Pangasinan Chapter on or before the scheduled activity. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
