House Committee hearing set on June 27
THE House Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development, in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), will conduct a public hearing on June 27 at the Emerald Hall of the Stadia in Dagupan City to seek input from Pangasinan’s entrepreneurs on a proposed bill.
An amendatory bill to Republic Act 9178, the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises Act of 2002, will be introduced and the sector representatives will be asked to comment and submit their respective recommendations.
DTI Provincial Director Peter Mangabat said the voice of small business owners will help the committee draft legislation with inputs from the industry players.
Representatives Teddy Casiño, chair of the committee, and Gina De Venecia are expected at the hearing.
Local government units, local treasurers, officers of the chambers of commerce, industry associations and entrepreneurs have been invited to attend the hearing that will start at 8:30 a.m.
A press conference will follow at 1 p.m. (PIA-Pangasinan)
