Girl, 14, stabbed dead inside DCNHS
A SHOCKING incident happened inside the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) Friday afternoon, just three days before the opening of classes. An incoming second-year student was brutally stabbed and killed.
The fatality was identified as Madelyn Goyena, 14, daughter of a prominent family in Sitio Calarin in Barangay Malued.
Superintendent Romeo Caramat, chief of police of Dagupan City, said the victim sustained at least 20 stab wounds in the chest and her head was smashed with a hard object.
Initial investigation conducted by the police showed that the crime happened at the back of the DCNHS where Goyena was reportedly talking with a boy, presumably her boyfriend.
The police are still investigating whether one or more persons participated in the killing.
Caramat said a knife found near the body of the victim will be subjected to laboratory examination by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).
