Cache of firearms, ammo seized in Bugallon

BUGALLON–A cache of firearms and ammunition was seized in a raid by joint elements of the police in the house of one of two brothers who are suspects in a shooting incident in this town sometime in March.

Seized from the residence of Alejandro Margarijo, alias “Andrew”, in Barangay Quibaol, Lingayen at about 6:16 a.m. of June 7 were one Ingram machine pistol marked “Interdynamic”; a 9 9MM Luger, close volt version; 25 live ammunition for 12- gauge shotgun; 101 pieces of live ammunition for Cal. 9mm; three pieces of long magazines for Ingram machine pistol; and one steel butt for Ingram Machine pistol.

However, the search at the house and premises of Margarijo’s brother Marciano, alias “Mantok”, located at Barangay Portic, Bugallon, yielded negative results.

Alejandro Margarijo and the seized items were brought to Special Operations Group (SOG) headquarters at the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office for custodial investigation.

The firearms and bullets will be submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for cross-matching to determine their relationship with recovered spent cartridges in a shooting incident that transpired at about 8:00 a.m. of March 15 along Banaga-Salasa Bridge.

Meanwhile charges for violation of Republic Act 8294 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition are being now being prepared against Alejandro.

The raiders included elements of the Special Operations Group, Special Weapons and Tactics/Provincial Public Safety Company and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
