Beauty queens in SM Santacruzan
PANGASINAN’s festival and campus queens paraded together with young girls and grandmothers in a traditional Santacruzan during the Mayflower Festival 2012 at SM City Rosales,
The little girls were part of the ‘Kiddiecruzan’ while the grandmas, escorted by their respective grandsons, were the stars of the ‘Seniorcruzan’.
“Nagagalak akong ipaalam sa inyo na hindi lang and ating mga magagandang dalaga ang kalahok sa araw na ito kundi pati na rin ang ating mga munting anghel at minamahal na lola” said Catherine Garcia, SM City Rosales assistant mall manager, in her opening remarks for the event.
The reigning Limgas na Pangasinan stood as the Reyna Elena. The other beauty queens who joined the procession were Ms. Dagupan 2011, Ms. Urdaneta City, Miss San Carlos City, runner-ups of Bb. Rosales, Loac, Mangaldan, San Jacinto and Hiyas ng Manaoag. Campus beauties from University of Pangasinan, University of Luzon, and Colegio de Dagupan were also among the sagalas.
The queens donned Filipiniana-inspired gowns designed by three Pangasinan designers who showcased their respective signature styles.
Billy Tamagos featured his traditional Filipiniana gowns while Glenn Gonzales, a finalist in Project Runway Philippines, did futuristic designs. Rian Fernandez, known as a Binibining Pilipinas and Ms. Earth designer, showed his eclectic Filipiniana gowns.
