Search on for 10 outstanding Dagupeños
IN line with Dagupan’s celebration of its 65th year of cityhood on June 20, a search for 10 outstanding Dagupeños has been launched by the city government.
The search is mandated by City Ordinance No. 1101-84, directing the conferment of the award recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in public service, business, the humanities, creative art, or other professions and have made an impact on the city, every five years.
The search committee, chaired by Honorata G. Siapno with Jorge Estrada as vice-chairman, was created by Mayor Benjamin S. Lim. The members are Atty. Cornelia Español, Leon Palaganas, Alex Duque, Delia Coquia and Rebecca Sanchez.
Under the ordinance, an awardee must have been born in Dagupan City and has continuously resided here for about a third of his life; or although not born in Dagupan City, must have resided continuously in the city for about ten years; under equal circumstances, preference shall go to one born in the city and has continuously resided here from birth to the present.
