Search and rescue training set June 12
THIRTY representatives from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CDRRMC) component government offices, selected barangay councils and partner volunteer groups will be trained by Makati City’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team on the safety procedures on search, stabilization and extrication of victims trapped in collapsed structures.
The training, which includes both lectures and simulation of the skills learned, is set on June 12-14 at the BSL Hall, DepEd Dagupan Office.
“Earthquake, tsunamis and disasters will happen. We will be called upon, whether we like it or not. To render our service that is expected of us,” City Administrator and council Executive Director Vladimir T. Mata told the participants during a briefing last May 19.
Comprising the delegation for the city government are: City Engineering Office, City Agriculture Office, City Planning and Development Office, City Health Office, City Accounting Office and General Services Office.
Participating volunteer groups are: the Philippine Red Cross, Philippine Navy, PRIMO, Police Hotline Movement Inc., Scooter Riders of Dagupan, Philippine Assistance Communication Group and Dagupan Panda Volunteer Fire Brigades. (CIO)
