Relic of patron saint stolen
LABRADOR–The relic of Saint Anthony De Padua, patron saint of Barangay Bongalon here, was reported missing in the afternoon of May 14 from the Saint Isadore Parish Church in the Poblacion.
With the icon gone, suspected to have been stolen as the church was broken into the night before, the scheduled procession of the relic in the afternoon of May 15 was postponed.
The relic of the patron saint belongs to another parish church and was only temporarily transferred to the Saint Isidore Parish as a fiesta tradition.
The parishioners made a public appeal for the return of the icon.
