Tricycle driver, cohort arrested for attempted robbery

MANGALDAN—Two men, one of them a tricycle driver, were arrested by the police after they, and another person who is still at large, robbed a woman passenger at about 1:30 a.m. along the provincial road in Banaoang here.

The victim, Rowena Pidlaoan, 23, single, who works as a segment producer of ABC Development Corporation, was on her way home to Barangay Buenlag on board a motorized tricycle when she was held up by two of the suspects identified as Guilermo Rebote, 27, of Barangay Nibaliw and Aldrin Litaba, alias Saddam.

The suspects flagged down the tricycle driven by Genesis Quinieres, allegedly a cohort of the two.

Forcibly taken from the victim were Php 1,150 and a Nokia Bar cell phone.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the Mangaldan Police Station and a manhunt was conducted at Joy KTV Bar in Barangay Bantayan where Rebote and Quineseres were arrested. Litaba was nowhere to be found.
