Ombudman opens regional office here
PANGASINENSES will now have easier access to the Ombudsman to file complaints against public officials or request investigations of any government offices.
The Ombudsman will inaugurate on April 30 a satellite office in Barangay Carmay East, Rosales town, which will serve as the regional headquarters.
Atty. Asryman Rafanan, assistant Ombudsman and spokesperson, said the opening of the regional office is aimed at making the Ombudsman’s services more accessible to the people of Northern Luzon and provide better transparency in public transactions.
“It will also boost the OMB mandate to eradicate graft and corruption in government,” Rafanan said.
The Office of the Ombudsman – tasked to investigate and prosecute government officials accused of crimes, especially graft and corruption – receives complaints from citizens and organizations, including from anonymous sources. (PIA-Pangasinan)
