City ready for Lenten Week beach crowd
THE City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) of Dagupan is ready with tighter security and safety measures for the beachgoers that are expected to flock to the Bonuan Tondaligan Beach this Lenten Week.
The council said that additional personnel will be deployed to the area from April 4-9 to reinforce the beach management teams.
In an interview, CDRRMC Technical Working Group Member Ronald De Guzman said teams from the Coast Guard, Navy and Maritime will oversee the waters while units from the City Health Office (CHO), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and barangay workers will man the command posts, patrol the shore and respond quickly in case of accidents.
In the evenings, Maritime personnel will be on beach patrol.
De Guzman said they are also putting up beach safety tips signages in conspicuous points to remind visitors of the dos and don’ts when going into the water. (CIO)
