Region 1 team ready to do battle

2012 PRISAA NATIONAL GAMES

THE Region 1 delegation is set to leave for Cebu City on April 20 to compete in the 2012 National Collegiate Games of the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) that reels off on April 22.

The team, to be headed by Atty. Gonzalo Duque, president of the Lyceum Northwestern University, is composed of some 200 athletes, coaches and officials.

The region’s team will compete in 13 team and individual events, with high hopes of bagging medals in athletics, taekwondo, and karatedo.

Opening ceremonies will be marked by the traditional athletic parade of some 5,000 athletes, coaches and officials from the 17 regions of the country at the Cebu Sports Center.

Business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan will be the principal speaker and will be officially installed as PRISAA Honorary Chairman during the association’s 1st National General Assembly and 20th Revival Anniversary Celebration.

Cultural presentations and fireworks display will follow after the opening ceremonies featuring Sinulog participants from PRISAA member-universities and colleges in the host Cebu City—Philamer
