P800,000 reward set for suspects’ arrest
ARCINUE COUPLE SLAY
LINGAYEN–Governor Amado Espino Jr. has offered a cash reward of P500,000 to any person who can give any vital information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the gun slaying of former Vice Mayor Ramon Arcinue and his wife Zorahayda, the incumbent barangay chair of Poblacion here, last March 7 in Manila.
This raised the reward money for the arrest of the killer and the mastermind to P800,000 after the municipal government of Lingayen, through Mayor Ernesto Castaneda, earlier pledged P300,000.
It is the second time for Espino to offer cash reward having offered P200,000 last year for information that could lead the arrest of the perpetrators behind the first slay attempt on the lives of the couple in Barangay Biec, Binmaley on March 14, 2011.
Last year, the family of the victims also promised another P300,000.
In the first attempt, a suspect was arrested but the case of double attempted murder filed against him was dismissed by the court for insufficiency of evidence.
The Arcinue couple was laid to rest at the Catholic Cemetery in Lingayen on March 14.
Espino has directed Pangasinan Police Office Director Senior Superintendent Rosueto Ricaforte, to exert all efforts and closely coordinate with the Manila Police for the early solution of the case.
Ricaforte expressed confidence that an arrest could be made this week.
