Duque elected PRISAA regional head anew
ATTY. Gonzalo Duque, Lyceum-Northwestern University president and The PUNCH columnist, has been voted anew as president of the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Region I, in elections held during the association’s biennial assembly last Tuesday in Dagupan City.
Also elected to the Regional Board of Trustees for the term January, 2012-December 2014 are: Atty. Rebene Carrera, PIMSAT Colleges president, vice-president; Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Jimenez, SVD, Divine Word College of Laoag director, secretary; Seato Gonimil, University of Luzon sports director, treasurer; Rodolfo Mandapat, University of Luzon, assistant treasurer; Camilo Abadilla, Divine Word College of Laoag, auditor; and Maria Corazon Bustria, Divine Word College of Urdaneta, P.R.O.
Duque, also PRISAA Metro Dagupan Division president, said he was very hesitant to serve another term but “for love of the sports”, he accepted the position which he previously held in 2003-2008.
He said he will follow up on the proposal to host the 2013 PRISAA Games in Pangasinan and Dagupan.
As president, he will also serve as a member of the PRISAA National Board of Trustees.—Philamer Celi
