Lim asks prosecutors, lawmen to cooperate in drive vs. drugs

MAYOR Benjamin Lim has called on the city prosecutors’ office and the Philippine National Police to collaborate closely in order to effectively stop drug trafficking in the city even.

“There is a need to sit down because some policemen do not know the rightful conduct of apprehension or the proper handling of evidence against apprehended drug dealers para hindi masayang ang effort at mabalewala ang ating pinag-hirapan,” said Lim.

The mayor noted that in most cases, drug dealers get away with their crime because of the improper handling of evidence.

“We do not want drugs in Dagupan City. If we are into the direction of keeping our city safe, let us make a big hit against drug trafficking in our city,” he said.

At the same time, Lim cited the prosecutors’ office for showing interest in his campaign against illegal drugs.

“Later, we will also involve the citizenry, the barangay captains and representatives of other private groups, who will be tasked to augment our police force in our campaign against illegal drugs,” he added. (CIO)
