Dagupan places 1st runner-up in CRM award
DAGUPAN was adjudged first runner-up in the city category’s Search for the Most Outstanding Local Government Unit Coastal Resource Management (LGU CRM) Implementer for 2011 by the Regional Development Council of Region 1.
Mayor Benjamin Lim received the award in recognition of the city’s “exemplary performance and commitment in coastal resource management planning, rehabilitation and protection, advocacy, project monitoring and evaluation, capability-building and resolution of issues and problems which significantly contributed to the sustainable management of the region’s coastal and marine resources.”
In mid-2010, the Lim administration launched the “Ilog Ko, Bilay Ko” program that cleared rivers of fish pens and other illegal structures.
Meanwhile, Urdaneta City was named Cleanest, Safest and Greenest LGU for 2011. (CIO)
