Calasiao sets bloodletting twice a year
AFTER the bloodletting program organized by the Calasiao municipal government with the Philippine National Red Cross last February 21, Mayor Mark Roy Macanlalay now aims to set the activity as a regular twice a year event.
An initial bloodletting was held in August last year during the mayor’s birthday.
“Nag-umpisa ang lahat ng ito noong birthday ko nung August. Ito kasi yung gusto kong iregalo sa mga tao…ang makatulong,” said Macanlalay.
He said the activity is intended to promote wellness among Calasiao residents as well as help dengue victims and other patients who are in need of blood.
“Healthy din kasi ang pagdodonate ng dugo. Nakabubuti na nga sa atin, nakatulong pa tayo sa kapwa,” Macanlalay said.—Allanah Paragas, UPB
