EDUCATORS in the capital town Lingayen gathered on January 5 for a special evening set in their honor.

“Teachers are the most treasured gift for humanities,” said Sheila Marie Primicias, assistant schools division superintendent of Pangasinan I, during the Educators Night 2012.

Also in attendance were school administrators and the non-teaching personnel of the elementary, secondary, and tertiary schools, both public and private, in the town.

Governor Amado Espino Jr., a son of an educator, said, “I have always idolized the teaching profession.”

At the same time, Espino, the event’s special guest, vowed to help teachers in addressing their concerns including low salary and the lack of school facilities, especially in public schools.

One of the highlights of the evening was the awarding of plaques to the Outstanding Personnel, Administrators, Teachers, and Non-teaching Personnel.

This year’s awardees included five personnel from the division office, 12 administrators, 25 teachers, and six non-teaching personnel.

Jose Rivera, district supervisor of Lingayen III and the over-all chairman of the event, said the awardees were chosen based on their performance last year.
