DepEd sets early registration for 2012 school year
THE Department of Education (DepEd) Pangasinan 2, in line with the new K+12 education program, has set January 28 for the early registration of students for school year 2012- 2013 that starts in June.
Dr. Veraluz Raguindin, DepEd Division Superintendent, said parents must enroll their children aged five and six years for kindergarten and Grade 1, respectively.
Students entering Grade 7 (those who will finish 6th grade in March) will also have to register.
DepEd is implementing the first phase of the K+12 program that requires children to go through Kindergarten up to Grade 12.
Raguindin said the early registration will help DepEd determine the number of students that will be attending school next year under the expanded program, and to enable the government to prepare the required number of classrooms and other related needs.
DepEd teachers will also visit every barangay to identify children of school age who cannot go to school because of disabilities—Jennet P. Gonzalez, CdD
