ALAMINOSCITY–At least 3,866 households belonging to the poorest of the poor here have been identified as potential beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Elizabeth Radoc, officer-in-charge of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO), said the potential beneficiaries were identified under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), which uses tests for estimating annual per capita income.

These potential beneficiaries have been registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which will release the final list by the end of January or early next month.

Under the 4Ps, a national government program, beneficiaries receive cash assistance of P500 every month for health and nutrition  needs plus P300 monthly per child aged 14 years old and below, with a maximum of three children, for educational expenses.

Beneficiaries, in turn, are required to comply with such conditions as availing of health services for the children, pre-and post-natal care for pregnant mothers, sending the children to school, and attending family development sessions.

4Ps was started during the Arroyo administration and has been continued by the present administration.
