9 cops relieved over shooting incident
LINGAYEN—Nine policemen in Urbiztondo were temporarily relieved of their posts In Urbiztondo pending completion of the investigation on their alleged neglect of duty for failing to respond to a shooting incident near their police station on December 28.
A game operator of an amusement park set up near the police station was killed in the incident.
Those relieved were SPO4 Armando Mondero, SPO3 Modesto Salvador, SPO1s Benjamin Bugayong and Pascual Salomon, PO1s Jocelyn Austria, Corazon Gray, Cesar San Nicolas II, Eldin dela Cruz and Jerome Palisoc.
They were on duty at the time of the killing but reportedly did not immediately respond to the crime.
Supt. Michael Nicolas, deputy provincial director for administration, said those relieved have been temporarily assigned to the Provincial Public Safety Management Company (PPSMC) in Alaminos City.
Nine members of the PPSMC, in turn, have been assigned to fill up the policemen’s vacated posts at the Urbiztondo Police Station.
Senior Supt. Rosueto Ricaforte, police provincial director of Pangasinan, ordered their relief pending completion of the investigation being conducted by the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Branch.–Eva Visperas
