GOV. ESPINO’S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

LINGAYEN—“The poblacion is the face, the heart and the soul of each town.”

This was the message of Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. during the Christmas dinner and fellowship night with local government officials held last December 16 at the Capitol Plaza here.

In his speech, the governor made an appeal to all LGU officials to observe cleanliness in their respective localities, especially in the poblacion area as he cited the Capitol as an example of physical orderliness.

Hinihiling ko lang po sa ating lahat, ito po ay isang pakiusap, hindi lang ito hamon o utos kasi ako ay naniniwala na ang mga bayan natin lalo na ang Poblacion area is the face, the heart and the soul of each town and the Capitol is the face, the soul and the heart of the province,” the Governor said.

The provincial chief executive said that in his four-year term as the highest official of the province, a lot of reforms were initiated and the provincial government have been moving ahead to attain the vision and mission set by the present administration.

“Thanks everyone for joining me and helping me realize all my dreams for this great province,” he said, adding that every reform is dedicated most especially to the sick, the poor and the needy Pangasinenses.

During the fellowship night, the provincial government paid tribute to Pangasinan arts and culture as the governor, together with Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr., led the awarding rites for the winners of the first “Balitok a Tawir” culture contest which was held recently as one of the highlights of this year’s tourism month celebration.

Espino commended all the LGU officials for supporting the program, giving special mention to Calasiao Mayor Roy Macanlalay for participating in the performance of his employees during the cultural contest.

“Pangasinan culture and arts must be revived and preserved so that the future generation would have something to be proud about being a Pangasinense,” he said.
