Notorious cattle rustler finally arrested
LINGAYEN–The elusive leader of a notorious cattle-rustling syndicate operating in San Carlos City and other parts of Pangasinan was finally arrested by joint police operatives in a raid at his hiding place in Barangay Salvacion, Sto. Tomas town, Thursday night.
Arrested was Lito Bulatao, alias “Geraffe”, 44, of Barangay Balite Sur, San Carlos City.
Bulatao, also a suspect in several killings in San Carlos City, was tagged as the leader of the Bulatao Group of cattle rustlers operating in San Carlos City and in the 3rd and 5th districts of the province.
Joint operatives of the Regional Public Safety Mobile Company, Provincial Police Office, Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Sto. Tomas Police served the arrest warrants to the suspect at 8:00 p.m. of Dec. 1.
At the time of his arrest, Bulatao yielded only two ammunition for Caliber 7.56 rifle.
Police authorities said the capture of Bulatao proved difficult because his identity was “covered with anonymity”.
Intensive surveillance and the recruitment of police informants eventually led the arrest of the accused who is now detained at the San Carlos City Police station.
The police said the recent modus operandi of Bulatao’s group was to hide in Metro Manila after hitting their targets in Pangasinan.
