CSC tightens watch on fake eligible gov’t workers
LINGAYEN—The Civil Service Commission (CSC) office here has tightened its watch against government employees with fake eligibility after the discovery of three employees who falsified documents.
Lyrma Oalin, CSC provincial director, said her office is verifying the list of persons with career service professional eligibility with the Professional Regulation Commission.
Among those caught and dismissed for fake eligibility was an employee who claimed to be a licensed accountant.
“Our vigilance is paying off,” Oalin said.
EXAM “FAKERS”
She added that they are also watching out for persons who, for a fee, substitute for and take the place of registered applicants during CSC examinations to guarantee a passing mark.
The fake examinees are often government employees who have previously passed the exams.
Oalin said while no one has been caught for this offense so far in Pangasinan, there are many such cases in other parts of the country.
She warned “fakers” that they would face administrative and criminal charges and risk dismissal from government service.
“This is a grave offense. The penalty is heavy, perpetual disqualification from government service, among others,” Oalin said.—Eva Visperas
