TANDEM RIDING KILLERS’ NEW VICTIM

CALASIAO—A barangay councilman of the town was killed on Wednesday night, only a few days after another barangay kagawad of Mangatarem was ambushed and killed.

The latest victim, who was shot dead in Barangay San Miguel by armed men riding in tandem, was identified as Roberto Ramos, 43, of Barangay Ambonao.

Police investigation showed that Ramos was about to board his motorized tricycle when he was gunned down by the back-rider of a motorcycle without a plate number.

A similar fate was suffered earlier by Kagawad Camilo Rufo, 48 who was shot by a lone gunman wielding an M-16 rifle in Barangay Dorongan Sawat, Mangatarem while on board his motorcycle.

Supt. Noel Vallo, chief of Police of Calasiao town, said an investigation into the killing of Ramos is ongoing as he indicated that the shooting could be the work of hired killers.

Witnesses said the killers were in black garments and wearing a bonnet and a helmet.

Vallo said the police have learned that Ramos was reportedly trying to sell his house and leave the area prior to the incident, a possible indication that he felt that his life was under threat.

Seven empty shells of Caliber 45 pistol was found by investigators at the crime scene.

Vallo said the shooter is likely a professional as all the six bullets fired by the gunman found their marks on the body of Ramos.

The police have yet to establish the possible motive for the murder.
