LINGAYEN-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas has called on the support of the whole province for the success of the construction of a seminary in Pangasinan during the anticipated Misa de Gallo or “Simbang Gabi sa Kapitolyo”, which the Bishop officiated last December 18 at the Capitol Plaza here.

Fr. Soc asked the people to pray for the fruition of the project so that “we may help all vocations in the priesthood”, noting that “kailangan natin ng pari sapagkat kailangan natin si Hesus.”

Due for construction in February next year, the P50-million school for priests to be named Mary Help of Christians Theology Seminary will be built at Barangay Palapad in San Fabian.

The archbishop also asked the people for donations to help build the seminary.

He further disclosed that in line with the giving of donations, a book to be called “Libro na Panangaro” which will contain all the signatures of donors will be buried in the cornerstone of the seminary.

Towards this end, the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr., together with provincial officials, employees and the people of Pangasinan expressed their complete support to the noble project.

The Simbang Gabi sa Kapitolyo, which started when Espino became provincial governor, is now on its 4th year.

The 9-day novena from December 15 to 23 is under the sponsorship of the province with assistance from members of the Epiphany Of Our Lord Parish in Lingayen.

Prior to the Misa de Gallo held at 5:30 PM, a rosary and novena is held at 4:00pm. (PIO/Angeline D. Villanueva)
