THE Pag-IBIG Fund, also known as the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), offers insurance to the general public, particularly those who are not covered by other insurance agencies.

Huge Olarte, information officer of Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan, said those who can avail include the unemployed, self-employed, contractual workers, housewives, students, religious leaders, and barangay officials.

The personal monthly contribution is one percent of the total salary for those who earn P1,500 per month or less, and two percent above P1,500, Olarte explained during the Pangtongtongan Tayo radio program on Tuesday.

An employer’s counterpart contribution, regardless of their employees’ salary, is two percent.

Students above 18 years old can also register as members and are required a minimum P150 monthly contribution.

Pag-IBIG Fund also accepts a one-time contribution of up to P500,000 but show proof how the money was acquired. (PIA-Pangasinan)
