City to hire physical therapists for senior citizens

MAYOR Benjamin Lim said he would hire physical therapists to help restore maximum movement and functional ability of senior citizens who suffered neurological damage because of a stroke.

Lim made this promise as he led the distribution of stipend to selected senior citizens on November 22 under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“They were productive citizens during their prime years and it is but fair that we take good care of them lalo’t nag-dedepende na lang sila sa kanilang mga anak ngayon,” said Lim.

Social Welfare Officer II Melanie Crispin said the 76 senior citizens received P1,500 each and will receive the same amount again this December for their last quarter stipend.  (CIO)
