AAP promotes road safety and Pangasinan tourism

LINGAYEN—The Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), in cooperation with the provincial government, launched on November 25 the three-day Pangasinan Drive Tour Caravan to promote domestic tourism and road safety practices.

A highlight of the event was the signing of the pledge for the Decade Action for Road Safety.

AAP Director and former Tourism Secretary Mina Gabor said the caravan encourages members and other motorists to visit various attractions around the country through road trips.

The program is also part of AAP’s advocacy for road safety, green motoring, and driver education.

Provincial Administrator Rafael Baraan and Tourism Operations Division Chief Malu Elduayan said the signing of the pledge is Pangasinan’s participation in the global effort to reduce road accidents worldwide by five million and save 50 million more from injuries between2011 to 2020.

Among the signatories of the pledge were representatives of the Provincial Board, League of the Municipalities of Pangasinan (LMP), Pangasinan Councilor’s League (PCL), Pangasinan Federation of Barangay Captains, the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, Land Transportation Office and the local transport Group.
