Pangasinan hosts 1st nat’l sportsfest for treasures, assessors

LINGAYEN–Pangasinan hosted the first national sportsfest of the Philippine Association of Local Treasurers and Assessors last October 4-7 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center here.

More than 1,000 delegates participated in the event, which was part of the group’s National Sharing of Best Practices on Treasury and Assessment Operations and Wellness Program.

Aside from the sports activities, the provincial government also put up a trade fair and exhibits featuring the various products of Pangasinan.

Provincial Assessor Nestor Quiambao, overall coordinator of the special events working committee, said the participants were also given a tour of the premier tourism sites in the province and treated to the Dangoan Pangasinan Cultural Show.

The games included volleyball, basketball, tennis, relay obstacle race, walkathon, marathon, chess, billiards, bowling, practical shooting, 100-meter dash, tug-of-war, dance sport and cultural competition. (DOS-PIA 1 Pangasinan/PIO)
