LEARNING THE HARD WAY–Some 40 students of the Salapingao National High School have to bear squatting on the concrete pavement of the school’s covered court while taking their test. The city council asked Mayor Benjamin Lim to fund the purchase of chairs for the pupils while Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez promptly donated 40 chairs to the school the next day through her family’s foundation.
